International expedition named after Thor Heyerdahl will held in Novosibirsk from 10 to 19 of July 2017. Children from Russia, Armenia and Czech Republic attend it. Many of them are seriously involved in the study of ecology and geography, history and ethnography, conduct scientific projects.
Denisa Prokopova from Šumperk has been participating in the volunteer projects of the organization “Czech Scouts” for several years. She helps children and pensioners, organizes environmental actions. “This is very important for me. It brings peace and good mood to people. Participants of international exploring expedition named after Thor Heyerdahl not only got used to sea life on board the ship Kon-Tiki and learn how to knit strong nodes, but also made mobile application. On 19 of July at Sibinfocentre children created an app-constructor, which allowed work with pictures and make graphic special effects.

This international project for young explorers aged 12-16, who have a common goal to develop joint research and to learn more about the culture of different countries. The project is supported by three countries – Norway, Russia and Armenia with help of Thor Heyerdahl jr., Russian Geographical Society, Vahakn and Hasmig Hovnanian Foundation. The main purpose of this expedition is to nurture the leaders on the examples of famous people – travelers and scientists, who take care of peace, cultural identity and support international dialogue. Our participants are the school children who realize scientific projects in ecology, ethnography and study of local lore, the winners of competition in biology and history, members of touristic clubs. Eleven young researchers took part in the first international youth expedition «Thor Heyerdahl explorer camp expedition» in Armenia, 1-10 August, 2016.
Expedition had symbolic start in Yerevan on the earth of the first explorer Noah. Young participants 12-16 years old cam e from different cities of Armenia and from Novosibirsk touristic club Kon-Tiki. The first Thor Heyerdahl Explorer Camp Expedition for young people starts in Armenia from 1st till 10th August. Young explorers from Russia and Armenia take part in this expedition.
